In the 30th century, humans have spread throughout the solar system and colonized more than 50 planets. Although large scale wars have vanished, powerful criminal organizations such as the Bloody Syndicate thrive in an era of underground activity, superficial prosperity, and government corruption. I.C. Blues, a gambler who wins big at Asteroid's casino, makes a bet with a criminal syndicate boss known as Bloody God that the entire solar system can be traversed in a single year. Along with his friends Rock, Beat and Birdy, Bruce forms the J9-III team for their journey into space where they will visit all 50 planets in their steam locomotive-type spaceship Sasuraiger, while battling syndicate interference.
